European White Oak Herringbone with Brass Inlay — Woodstock, GA Estate
Service: Custom pattern installation — shop-fabricated 90° herringbone, custom mechanically-locked border, and solid brass inlay
Wood: RW Floors Bowland Fells, Marshaw — European white oak, 9-1/2-inch by 5/8-inch plank, 4 mm sawn wear layer; single manufacturing batch across both houses
Finish: Factory-prefinished, wire-brushed urethane
Size: Approximately 10,000 square feet across a two-house family estate (House 123: 5,693 sq ft; House 119: 4,500 sq ft)
Context: Design-firm-specified materials, pattern, and brass detailing; client-provided flooring; glue-down over slab and nail-assisted glue-down over plywood; completed July 2026
Approximately 10,000 square feet of European white oak across a two-house family estate, with a shop-fabricated 90° herringbone field and a custom border in a feature location in each house. The herringbone was milled in-house from the same 9-1/2-inch plank, and the border was site-milled with a routed tongue-and-groove profile that mechanically locks the field to the frame so the line stays flat. A solid C360 brass feature strip — 214 linear feet in all — outlines the pattern work and runs flush across fifteen doorway thresholds, each routed to the depth of the bar and bedded in the floor’s adhesive level with the wood face. Installed to the design firm’s specification over two different substrates.
White Oak Herringbone with 7-Inch Custom Border — Buckhead High-Rise, Atlanta
Service: Custom herringbone installation with a 7-inch tongue-and-groove border, site-finished

Context: 24th-floor Buckhead condominium, concrete slab, IIC 65 acoustic requirement, valuable art collection in place
A full floor replacement on the 24th floor of a Buckhead high-rise. The white oak herringbone runs in one continuous direction throughout the residence, framed by a 7-inch tongue-and-groove border. Roberts Natural Cork over the ground concrete slab met the building’s acoustic requirement, and the floor was sanded and finished on site as one surface.
Large-Scale European Ash Herringbone with Custom Border — Savannah Penthouse Residences
Service: Large-scale factory-made herringbone installation with custom tongue-and-groove border
Wood: Anderson Tuftex European Ash, Ballet — factory-made herringbone (AA846-17060), 5-inch by 15-inch pieces; matching plank (AA845-17060) in the hallways

Context: Architect-specified adhesive, designer-selected flooring, glue-down over both concrete and plywood, completed November–December 2025
Approximately 5,000 square feet of European Ash herringbone with a custom 7-inch picture-frame border across two adjoining multi-level penthouses. The field-to-border connection was cut on a track saw and routed to a tongue-and-groove profile, mechanically locking the border to the field so the frame line stays flat across the full scale. Installed to the design team’s specification over two different substrates.
7-Inch Engineered White Oak, Installed and Site-Finished — Chateau Elan, Braselton
Service: Engineered hardwood installation and site finishing

Context: Country club residence, Chateau Elan; full glue-down removal, concrete slab preparation with moisture mitigation
Approximately 2,000 square feet of rift and quartersawn white oak installed unfinished and site-finished as one continuous surface — no factory bevels, no sheen variation, no room-to-room transitions. The slab was ground, moisture-mitigated with Wakol PU 280, and self-leveled before installation; the floor was then sanded flat and finished on site in a single unified pass.
4-Inch Solid White Oak Installation with Site Finishing — Buckhead High-Rise, Atlanta
Service: Solid hardwood installation over cork acoustic underlayment, site-finished
Wood: Solid white oak, unfinished, Select grade — 4-inch by 3/4-inch, random lengths, milled by Millwood Flooring, Ellijay, Georgia
Finish: LOBA Easy Prime sealer + two coats LOBA 2K Duo, satin
Size: Approximately 1,600 square feet
Context: 21st-floor Buckhead condominium, concrete slab, IIC 65 acoustic requirement, full gut renovation with a general contractor on site; completed October 2025
A full floor replacement on the 21st floor of Gallery Condominiums, the same building as our 24th-floor herringbone project, on a referral from those residents. The existing engineered floor was removed to the slab, the concrete was ground, and the slab was tested with in-situ RH probes at 55% before any adhesive went down. Roberts Natural Cork 6mm was adhered with Wakol MS 260 to meet the building’s acoustic requirement, and the solid white oak was glued to the cork face with a Wakol B13 V-notch trowel. The work ran in two stages: the raw floor was installed first, the general contractor completed the renovation over it across about a month, and the floor was sanded and finished last. Square shoe molding was fabricated in our shop from the same white oak and finished in the same system.
Fabricated Herringbone from Straight-Layout Plank — Monroe
Service: Custom herringbone and border fabricated on site from straight-layout material
Wood: Prefinished engineered white oak, 9½-inch wide, ⅝-inch thick, four-sided micro-bevel

Size: Approximately 180 square feet including border
Context: New construction, concrete slab; herringbone added mid-project to a straight-lay installation
The flooring was specified for a standard straight layout, not pattern work. Every herringbone piece — roughly 96 boards — was fabricated on site: cut to 48 inches, re-milled with a tongue-and-groove profile, and the micro-bevel recreated by hand to match the factory profile. The result reads as part of the home’s original design rather than a decorative add-on.
Fabricated Herringbone Entrance, Color-Matched to an Existing Floor — Dunwoody
Service: Custom herringbone entrance fabricated from the home’s existing plank, color-matched on site
Wood: 9-inch prefinished engineered plank, ripped to 4¼-inch herringbone pieces, 4mm wear layer
Finish: Cut edges and bevels color-matched with Rubio Monocoat Fumed + Oil Plus 2C in Super White (factory face untouched)
Size: Approximately 130 square feet
Context: Builder had already floored the home; owner wanted herringbone in the entrance with no factory herringbone available for that floor
The builder’s own 9-inch plank was ripped down, re-milled with a new tongue and groove, and the bevel recreated so the fabricated pieces matched the factory floor they join. The 4mm wear layer gave enough real wood at the surface to re-machine cleanly. Installed as a nail-assisted glue-down with 12 raw white oak vents color-matched on site and set flush.
White Oak Refinishing with New-Floor Lace-In and Custom Color Match — Buckhead
Service: Refinishing, new-floor lace-in, and custom color match as one continuous floor
Wood: White oak — approximately 600 square feet new laced into approximately 700 square feet existing
Finish: DuraSeal Jacobean stain + LOBA finish system
Size: Approximately 1,300 square feet
Context: Client built an addition and removed a kitchen; board repairs, new install, and full refinish done as one job
New white oak was laced into the existing floor where the kitchen had stood — the existing field cut back over four feet so the new boards stagger in rather than meeting on a straight seam. The new addition was tied in with no transition strip, then the whole floor was sanded as one surface and finished in a single color so new and existing read as one space.
Red Oak Whole-House Refinishing for a Natural White Oak Look — Atlanta
Service: Whole-house refinishing, new red oak install, and stair resanding under one finish system
Wood: Red oak (existing + 160 sq ft new red oak #1 common) and engineered hardwood
Finish: Two coats Bona NaturalSeal + two coats Bona Traffic HD, satin
Size: Approximately 1,660 square feet plus 30 stair treads
Context: Red oak finished to read as natural white oak — no stain, no bleach
The client wanted their red oak to read as pale, neutral white oak. Red oak carries a pink undertone that deepens under most clear finishes, so the color was built through the finish system: Bona NaturalSeal, a lightly white-pigmented sealer, counteracts the pink and holds the boards at a freshly-sanded appearance, and Bona Traffic HD doesn’t amber over time. Existing red oak, new red oak, and the engineered basement floor were all sanded and finished in one sequence.
Engineered Hardwood Replacement, 26th Floor — The Atlantic, Atlantic Station
Service: Engineered hardwood replacement following water damage, high-rise condominium
Wood: Mansard Hickory, Brick & Board Collection — Real Wood Floors

Size: Approximately 800 square feet, main living space
Context: 26th-floor unit; HOA Architectural Control Committee approval, IIC 54 acoustic requirement, freight-elevator logistics
A water event damaged the main living space of a 26th-floor unit. The existing floor was removed and replaced with Mansard Hickory over ECO-Ultra Quiet acoustical underlayment, bonded with Wakol MS 230. Approval, corridor protection, acoustic specification, and freight-elevator scheduling were all coordinated against the building’s renovation rules before any material was ordered.
White Oak Refinishing with NordicSeal and Stair Matching — Hoschton
Service: Full hardwood refinishing including stairs and landing, dustless sanding
Wood: White oak
Finish: Two coats Bona NordicSeal + two coats Bona Traffic HD

Context: Return client — floors originally installed by Classy Flooring ATL over 20 years earlier; near Château Élan
A whole-house refinishing that moved an aged white oak floor away from the warm yellow tone of a 20-year-old oil-based finish toward a lighter, cleaner, contemporary direction — without making it look artificially pale. The color was confirmed by sampling on the actual floor before committing. Stairs, landing, custom wood vents, and quarter round were all matched to the refinished floor.
Reclaimed Heart Pine Restoration with Wide Gap Filling — Big Canoe, GA
Service: Refinishing and restoration — wide gap filling with a high-elastic trowel filler, splinter stabilization, and multi-species color matching
Wood: Existing floors — reclaimed heart pine, 1,200 sq ft; new southern yellow pine, 950 sq ft; white oak herringbone, 250 sq ft
Finish: DuraSeal Jacobean and DuraSeal Espresso over a dewaxed shellac wash coat; Berger-Seidle AquaSeal FlexSealer with two coats of AquaSeal CeramicStar in satin
Size: Approximately 2,400 square feet across three species
Context: Homeowner color selection from shop-built sample pieces; three-person crew; ten working days; 16 basement stair treads and risers installed; completed July 2026
Board gaps across the reclaimed heart pine measured from approximately 1/8 inch to 5/8 inch. Every joint was filled with Berger-Seidle AquaSeal PAK-Stop, a high-elastic trowel filler colored on site with AquaSeal Pafuki Powder in black and troweled edge to edge across the full floor in two coats, 24 hours apart, with no joint requiring a third. The floor had been taken down close to the tongue during a previous refinish, leaving more than 75 lifted and splintered board sections, all of which were bonded with Stick Fast cyanoacrylate glue and spray activator after the first sanding cut. No boards were replaced anywhere on the floor. Two stain colors were selected so the century-old heart pine, the new southern yellow pine, and the white oak herringbone hold a common tone across doorways where no transition strips are installed.
Refinishing a Heart Pine Floor That Lost Its Amber Color — Roswell, GA

Finish: DuraSeal Quick Coat, 2 parts Nutmeg to 1 part Chestnut, over a dewaxed shellac wash coat; Loba WS EasyPrime with two coats of Loba WS 2K Duo in satin
Size: Approximately 1,250 square feet
Context: Condominium; floor refinished shortly before and returned pale, with the surface left sanded unevenly; homeowner color selection from six on-floor samples; crew of two; four working days; completed November 2025
The floor came back from a recent refinish without the deep amber tone it had carried, and the homeowner wanted that warmth back. The reference was still on the floor: pine beneath the refrigerator had been shielded from light and from the previous work, holding the floor’s earlier appearance intact beside the pale surface it had become. The floor was cut back at 40, 60, and 80 grit and flattened with the FG Floortec Discus planetary sander at 100 and 120, correcting the uneven surface. Before any color went down, a wash coat of Zinsser SealCoat thinned six parts denatured alcohol to one part sealer evened out absorption across pine’s soft early wood and dense late wood. Six stain samples went directly onto the sanded floor, separated by strips of bare pine, and the homeowner chose the direction from those.
Prefinished Engineered White Oak Installation — Canton
Service: Prefinished engineered hardwood installation, whole house, new construction
Wood: European white oak — RW Floors Kells, Killarney Collection; 7½-inch wide, ½-inch thick, random 1–7 ft lengths
Finish: Prefinished (factory urethane, wire-brushed)
Size: 2,740 square feet across two levels
Context: New-construction single-family home; coordinated with the builder and GC during the final construction phase
2,740 square feet of wide-plank European white oak installed over plywood using a glue-assist nail-down method — Bona R851 adhesive with 18-gauge cleats over a coat of Wakol PU 280. With a prefinished product there is no site finishing to correct mistakes, so the result depended on moisture verification (0.5% delta between flooring and subfloor), plywood preparation, and board-blending discipline before and during installation.
Color Matched Across Species — White Oak to Red Oak, Dunwoody, GA
Service: Refinishing with color matching to an existing floor — tinted finish coat

Finish: LOBA EasyPrime with LOBA Whitener, 2.7 oz per gallon, followed by three coats of LOBA 2K Duo in satin — the third coat tinted with MIXOL No. 10 Red
Size: 700 sq ft refinished; matched to 300 sq ft of existing red oak
Context: Existing red oak installed and finished a year earlier and left untouched as the reference; species discovered during sanding; crew of 3, 3 days on site; completed July 2026
A dark finish came off 700 square feet of flooring, and the wood underneath was white oak — beside 300 square feet of red oak in the adjoining living area that was finished a year earlier and not in scope. Two species, one sightline, and only one floor available to work on. Samples on the client’s own floor set the base tone with LOBA Whitener in the sealer. The remaining difference was undertone: red oak carries a warmer, pinker cast that no clear coat closes. That was corrected in the film — MIXOL No. 10 Red mixed into the third of four coats and rolled across the full 700 square feet in one continuous application, with a clear coat over it so the pigmented layer is not the wear surface.
White Oak Floor Refinishing in Rubio Monocoat — Buckhead

Context: Main level of a private Buckhead residence; companion to the oak paneling project in the same home, January 2026
Approximately 1,500 square feet of existing white oak refinished on the main level. The boards were old with significant cupping, so they were sanded to raw wood, water popped, and finished with the Rubio Monocoat system. The floor color was sampled directly on the sanded oak and coordinated with the home’s refinished oak paneling so the two read as one palette.
Oak Wall Paneling Refinishing in Rubio Monocoat — Buckhead
Service: Refinishing of an existing solid oak raised-panel millwork system — vertical surfaces, no replacement
Wood: Solid oak millwork (wall paneling, paneled doors, fireplace surround, bar millwork)
Finish: Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C in Linen + Rubio Monocoat Universal Maintenance Oil
Size: 153 raised panels framed by 612 individual trim elements
Context: Great room of a private Buckhead residence, January 2026 — refinishing applied to walls and millwork, not floors
A full-room oak paneling system — 153 raised panels and 612 trim elements — refinished in place from a warm orange tone to a modern, natural Linen color, preserving every original trim profile. Removable panels were worked on sawhorses and fixed frames finished on the wall, with the two reading as one uniform surface. The profile work was done by hand to protect the millwork geometry. Refinishing applied to vertical surfaces, not just floors.
Red Oak Installation Matched to Existing Floors — Alpharetta, GA
Service: Hardwood installation — new solid red oak, nailed down, then sanded and finished on site to match the existing floors.
Wood: Solid red oak — 2-1/4-inch strip, No. 1 Common grade.
Finish: Site-finished — DuraSeal Early American stain, LOBA EasyPrime sealer, two coats LOBA 2K Duo, satin.
Size: Single master bedroom, converted from carpet to hardwood.
Context: Carpet, pad, and tack strips removed to bare plywood; primed with one coat of WAKOL PU 280; red oak nailed down over the plywood; finished on site to match the home’s existing red oak; completed June 2026.
A carpeted master bedroom converted to solid hardwood to continue the red oak already running through the rest of the home. The carpet, pad, and tack strips were removed to bare plywood; the subfloor was sanded flush at the seams, buffed, screwed where needed, and primed with one coat of WAKOL PU 280; and 2-1/4-inch red oak was nailed down over it. The floor was sanded to a 120-grit surface, then stained with DuraSeal Early American and sealed and topcoated with a LOBA waterborne system in satin — the same species and the same finishing sequence as the existing floors, so the color and grain continue from the adjoining rooms into the bedroom.
