Classy Flooring ATL

Every project we take on follows a defined process because the result depends on correct decisions before work begins. This page explains what to expect from the first contact through completion.

We use this process across hardwood floor refinishing, hardwood floor installation, custom pattern installation, engineered hardwood installation, and stair projects in Atlanta.

The goal is not speed for its own sake, but correct planning, clear communication, and a result that fits the home and the client’s priorities.

First Contact

When you submit a contact form or call us, we follow up to learn about your project, the space involved, and what you are trying to achieve. Based on that conversation, we recommend an on-site visit.

We do not give estimates over the phone. Hardwood flooring work requires an in-person assessment. Humidity, subfloor condition, wood species, layout, access, and square footage all affect the scope of work and the price. A number given without seeing the space is not reliable.

On-Site Assessment and Consultation

We schedule the visit at a time that works for you. Claudiu comes to the home, takes the necessary measurements, and evaluates the conditions that affect the project. Depending on the job, that may include moisture conditions, subfloor levelness, existing floor condition, wood identification, and other technical factors relevant to the space.

For refinishing projects, that may include evaluating the condition of the existing floor, repair needs, and finish direction. For installation projects, it may include subfloor conditions, layout planning, and material compatibility.

This visit is also a consultation. We discuss what you want to achieve, explain the options available, and advise you on the best approach for your home and your goals. If there are technical, structural, or aesthetic constraints, we address them at this stage.

Research, Material Guidance, and Scope of Work

After the assessment, we do whatever research the project requires. If material selection is part of the job, we help evaluate the options, source samples when needed, and review products before they are purchased.

When needed, we help clients compare products based on construction, finish, installation requirements, and whether the material is appropriate for the conditions in the home.

When the scope is clear, we send a written estimate and a project-specific scope of work, typically within 24 hours. This is not a generic template. It is written around the actual conditions and requirements of your project.

Scheduling

Most projects are scheduled within 1 to 2 weeks, depending on job size, workload, and client timing needs. If your project has a specific deadline or scheduling constraint, we discuss that early so the plan is clear from the beginning.

Communication During the Project

We keep communication clear throughout the job. Each morning, we send an update with the expected arrival time and the plan for the day. At the end of the day, we update you on progress and what is planned next.

When useful, we also send photos. If you prefer fewer updates, we respect that. Communication can be adjusted to your preference, but the work standard remains the same.

Completion and Floor Care Guidance

When the project is finished and the initial curing period has been reached, we walk through the space with you to make sure everything is in order and completed as agreed.

Completion includes confirming that the work is finished as agreed and that the client understands the next steps for curing, protection, and long-term care.

After completion, we send a personalized floor care guide for your specific floor. That PDF is based on the species, construction, and finish system used on your project, and it follows the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations for that exact floor. It is not a generic handout.
